Audemars Piguet Royal Oak
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in brief
The Royal Oak was introduced in 1972 in a design by Gérald Genta and became one of the first luxury sports watches made of steel. Its octagonal bezel takes its inspiration from the portholes of old diving helmets and is fixed to the case with eight hexagonal screws.
The Grande Tapisserie dial, the bracelet integrated with the case and the sharp transition between satin and polished surfaces are the model's signature. Today it is a broad family stretching from time-only models to chronograph, perpetual calendar and skeleton versions.
