Rolex GMT-Master II
Rolex GMT-Master II in brief
The GMT-Master was introduced in 1954 for pilots flying between continents, as a watch that shows two time zones at once. The GMT-Master II, which arrived in 1982, made the hour hand independently adjustable, making it easier to change the time while traveling.
The arrow-tipped 24-hour hand and the bidirectional rotating 24-hour bezel are read together; turning the bezel lets you track a third time zone as well. The two-color bezels gave the model its nicknames: red-and-blue "Pepsi," black-and-blue "Batman," green-and-black "Sprite."
