Rolex Submariner

Rolex Submariner in brief

The Submariner was introduced in 1953 as a dive watch waterproof to 100 meters and soon became the yardstick for all dive watches. Today's models are waterproof to 300 meters.

The unidirectional rotating bezel measures dive time safely: even if it is turned by accident, it only shortens the time, never extends it. Large, legible hour markers and bright Chromalight luminous material make it easy to read in the dark. Date and no-date versions are available.

Frequently asked questions

Date or no-date?

The no-date Submariner offers a symmetrical, plainer dial; the date version adds everyday practicality with the Cyclops lens. The case and bezel are the same on both.

Is the Submariner only for diving?

No. It was designed for diving, but its durability and understated look made it a watch worn every day; it is also worn comfortably with a suit.

Why do some models have a green or blue bezel?

The color is only a matter of style. The 126610LV with its green bezel and the gold models with a blue bezel are the family's more eye-catching versions.

Which case sizes does the Rolex Submariner come in?

The catalog currently has case sizes of 41 mm. Our wrist size guide makes it easy to see which one fits your wrist.
